Representative Problem Inputs and Parameters

Applications that perform simulations of physical phenomena typically require extensive input files to specify the details of the system to simulate or the problem to solve.  Corresponding proxy apps also frequently require input parameters, though the reduced capabilities of proxy apps usually leads to substantial simplifications in the parameter set.  Because application (and proxy app) behavior can vary significantly depending on the input parameters it is important to select inputs that are representative of workloads that are likely to be encountered in production use.

The information below is intended to help proxy app users identify appropriate input parameters for commonly used proxy apps.
